This online course will assist teachers (K-12) in implementing authentic STEM teaching and learning into the classroom for lessons and units that are relevant and exciting for their students. This class will give participants the opportunity to make connections with 21st century skills and engaging lessons. With ideas that are practical and achievable, this course will give teachers the confidence and time to "make and take" resources that build on what teachers may already use or to provide just what you need to get started. Whether you are a novice or veteran teacher, this course will give everyone the opportunity to create lessons that engage students in the participant’s classrooms with meeting multiple standards at the same time. A research based approach, followed by reflections, will be used by studying selections of text, videos, and websites dealing with this topic. Teachers that may be struggling with how to integrate Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math into everyday lessons, will be much more confident doing so at the completion of this course.
Using the book; STEM Lesson Essentials by; Jo Anne Vasquez, Cary Sneider, and Michael Comer, participants will add meaningful STEM strategies to their teaching "toolbox."
